12/31/15: This game doesnt work on the new iPad pro! I feel ripped off and if an update isnt made soon I will be asking for my money back as well as never purchasing a TellTale product again.
3/26/2015, episode 3 has been released. My heart tells me that it was the 1 start review, in which, I had exposed TTs fraudulent & unprofessional business practices re: GoT Game. However, my brain tells me this is simple coincidence, and my review had nothing to do with this action. I have yet to play the episode. I will do so and report back; hopefully cheering on the Foresters and not the Boltons...
Time will reveal....
-------------------------------------
Last nights review:Telltale Inc.s Game of Thrones is an amazing craft & when initially I purchased & began playing I was in love! I had just received an iPhone 6+ and the combination of TellTale & GoT had me sold on buying the multi-pack! BAD IDAEA!
My rationale for the 1 star review:
•If Telltale wishes to keep its customer base both satisfied and as active purchasers, they MUST return to what made them so popular!
• I am comfortable speaking for the TT GoT fan base with this statement, "if you want to hold on to your reputation for artistic, intelligent, & unique professional gamecraft...release an episode NOW! We beg you to return to your unique episodic style; the episodes need to be released in a reasonable interval of time. I under stand that crafting such artistry is difficult. Thus, I suggest that you wait to release the whole game until you [Telltale] are more prepared to release subsequent episodes.
•First: an analogy: "Imagine that you ordered "Better Call Saul" on AppleTV, Roku, etc. and AMC, Sony, and the Villigan decided to stop releasing shows after they got to 3 episodes; and not say a word about it, save coming soon!"
I hope that analogy works for ppl!? Moving on...
•Episode 1, kinda, dull, not nearly as much typical TTs unique choice-making outcome alteration gameplay; relative to their previous hits, e.g. TWD1&2, L&O, etc.
•Episode 2, I really began to enjoy the characters and they were beginning to seamlessly fit into G.RR Ms GoT world! Also, episode 2 appeared to have more of TellTales decision making that would alter your games storyline!
•Fast forward to today, & it is right about 3 months since I have seen them release a GoT episode. Currently, I would rather have my money returned for purchasing the multi-pack.
• I lost interest in TellTales unique to GoT cannon cast House Foresters; as well as, the side characters.
•Instead of episode 3, TellTale has given their loyal fans a tragedy. Perhaps legal problems; but I am just about done with TellTale. Yes they have made fantastic thought-provoking professional games in the past; but have the EVER had a modicum of customer service? If they have, I was asleep.
Summary:
•I suppose if Telltale Games Inc. releases the GoT episode 3 within a week from today (3/25/2015) & make good on their contracts by honoring the forthcoming episodes in a timely & professional fashion, I could be drawn back in! However, if this patently absurd lack of episode release continues, nay EVEN the continuation of not giving their customers a simple time frame of when Episode 3 will be released; I will be 100% be asking for my money back for my episodes 3-6.
• The sad thing is: Telltale has produced such amazing game-craft, this would force my hand to NEVER purchase another product from Telltale Inc. I think Omar Devon Little put it best when he told the court, "a mans gotta have a code...you just like me! I got the shotgun & you got the briefcase; its all in the game dō!"
If you are: 1) aware of the empirical fact that "The Wire" is the best TV show that can be made, and 2) you are capable of abstract thought; this review should offer more customer support than the sum total that Telltale has failed to offer during its existence.
Potential Silver Lining:
•Actual book and/or GoT fans can watch Ramsey Bolton filay every high borne Forrester-in their imagination!
Questions:
•Why doesnt another gaming company, creator, etc. produce a similar and/or exact game? It must certainly be feasible? In fact, I would even contribute $ to finance a similar gaming-startup, e.g."TaleTell Inc.".
•Clearly there are an unlimited supply of TellTales GoT fans. I will take this 1 step further, with the broad claim,"we, as fans of TellTales GoT all want episode 3-6 to become real; rather than the mere assertions and empty promises. A trap into which TellTale has apparently fallen. •Sorry TellTale, but this is no longer a professional business model.
DO NOT PURCHASE THE MULTIPACK-TELLTALE IS SCAMMING ITS CUSTOMERS LEGALLY!
